Freestanding Pull-Out

Configuration Overview

Freestanding Pull-Out is a self-supporting configuration of Pull-Out Art Storage Racks for museums, galleries and professional art collections storing framed paintings, photographs and other flat artworks that can be safely hung vertically.

An independent load-bearing frame houses multiple individually retractable artwork panels. The panels remain compact when not in use, while a selected panel can be pulled out for inspection, inventory, retrieval or return without moving unrelated works.

Compared with a floor-track system, this configuration places greater emphasis on independent installation and spatial adaptability. It suits existing collection stores, small to medium projects, phased construction and spaces that may later be rearranged or expanded.

Key Functions

01

Vertical Artwork Storage

Framed paintings, photographs, prints and other suitable flat artworks are organized vertically instead of leaning against walls or being stacked together.

02

Individual Pull-Out Access

Each panel can be withdrawn independently for inspection, inventory, retrieval and return, reducing unnecessary handling of other works.

03

Compact Organization

Multiple panels are concentrated within one independent frame to increase usable vertical hanging capacity while preserving individual access.

04

Flexible Hanging Layout

The panel surface and hanging-point arrangement can be configured around the selected attachment method and artwork dimensions.

05

Freestanding Installation

The self-supporting frame does not require the complete system to be permanently integrated into the building structure.

Structure & Working Principle

Supporting Frame

A metal load-bearing frame supports the pull-out panels and provides stability during repeated operation.

Final dimensions and structure are confirmed from panel quantity, artwork weight and site conditions.

Pull-Out Panels

Vertically arranged artwork panels move independently along their guidance system.

The panel surface is selected to suit the project hanging method.

Guide & Rolling Components

Guides, rollers or wheel assemblies support controlled movement and help each panel maintain its intended travel direction.

Final component specifications depend on the production configuration.

Freestanding Base

The configuration uses an independent base.

Casters or other repositionable structures, when required, must be assessed against total load, locking method and operating safety.

Surface Finish

Metal frame and panel finishes are project-configurable.

Any public claim concerning coating chemistry, VOC emissions or conservation-grade performance requires final Sinoalta production evidence.

Suitable Collections & Applications

  • Framed paintings and oil paintings
  • Framed photographs
  • Prints and other framed works on paper
  • Other flat artworks suitable for vertical hanging
  • Museum and gallery collection stores
  • University, foundation and institutional art collections
  • Existing stores where extensive permanent building modification is undesirable
  • Fragile works that cannot be safely hung require a different storage method.

Why Choose This Configuration

  • A complete freestanding art-rack system is required
  • Permanent floor tracks or extensive building integration should be minimized
  • The collection store may be rearranged in the future
  • Storage capacity may grow in phases
  • The project is small or medium in scale
  • Staff require independent access to every panel
  • Layout flexibility is more important than the maximum density of a fixed system
  • For long-term fixed stores that accept floor guidance, compare Floor-Mounted Pull-Out.
  • For panels enclosed within a fixed cabinet body, compare Enclosed Pull-Out Mesh Cabinet.
