Paper Conservation Immersion & Dyeing System

Product Positioning

For paper wetting, immersion dyeing and dyeing during rare-book conservation, with a matching paper-drying rack for holding treated paper during drying.

A temperature-controlled dye bath, lifting tray, drainage structure and matching paper-drying rack organize paper immersion dyeing and subsequent drying into a continuous conservation workflow.

Job to Be Done

Situation: During rare-book conservation, repair paper or related paper must be wetted, immersion-dyed or dyed and then arranged for drying.

Problem: The process must simultaneously manage dye-bath temperature, tray lifting, overflow protection, drainage and drying of the immersed paper.

Job: Use the temperature-controlled dye bath and lifting tray to immerse and dye paper, then connect the process to subsequent drying through the drainage structure and matching paper-drying rack.

Desired Outcome: Establish an immersion-dyeing and drying workflow suitable for rare-book conservation paper.

When to Choose

Suitable when:

  • The principal use is immersion dyeing of paper during rare-book conservation;
  • Dye-bath temperature adjustment is required;
  • A lifting tray is required to control paper entry into and removal from the dye solution;
  • Overflow protection and convenient drainage are required;
  • A matching paper-drying rack is required after treatment;
  • The equipment must be customized to laboratory space and paper dimensions.

If the principal task is continuous draw-dyeing of large-format Xuan paper and requires greater paper width and longer lifting travel, select the Large-Format Xuan Paper Dyeing System.
