Configuration Overview
Active Humidity Control & Monitoring is designed for museums, archives, and professional collections requiring long-term humidity-controlled storage, environmental monitoring, and data management. The active control system automatically dehumidifies when cabinet relative humidity rises above the setpoint and humidifies when it falls below the setpoint, reducing risks associated with excessive moisture, dryness, and environmental fluctuation.
The water-free or low-maintenance design reduces routine filling and drainage. Temperature and humidity monitoring, data logging, and network connectivity support continuous management of the cabinet environment. Cabinet dimensions, internal layout, and monitoring modules can be configured around collection size, material, quantity, and storage method.
Key Functions
Active Humidity Control
The integrated humidification and dehumidification unit uses microprocessor control to switch automatically according to the difference between measured relative humidity and the setpoint. The detachable rear-mounted module preserves the primary storage volume and supports servicing and upgrades.
Water-Free / Low-Maintenance Operation
The system minimizes manual filling and drainage. It is designed to avoid visible dripping, frosting, secondary moisture damage, and fan-motor noise. Chemical-compensation moisture absorption provides humidity buffering for up to 24 hours after a power interruption.
Environmental Monitoring & Data Logging
Temperature and humidity can be monitored in real time. A reserved RS485 interface supports standalone or networked records, historical statistics, and environmental trend analysis.
Access Monitoring
Projects can include door-opening and collection-access records. Optional image recording can support internal management and traceability.
Air Purification
An optional purification module can reduce CO₂, sulfides, H₂S, NH₃, and other gases that may affect stored collections.
Storage Layout Options
Adjustable Shelf Cabinet
For three-dimensional objects and collections requiring adjustable vertical clearance, including bronzes, ceramics, lacquerware, stone, jade, paintings, and other shelved objects. A standard arrangement can include five height-adjustable shelves.
Drawer Cabinet
For flat, rolled, classified, or layered storage of coins, precious-metal objects, works on paper, books, photographs, correspondence, textiles, and related collections. Drawer count and internal dimensions are project-configurable.
Humidity Control System
The rear-mounted humidity-control module integrates humidification and dehumidification under automatic microprocessor control. Its modular, detachable design does not occupy the primary storage area. The selected configuration uses a fanless motor design and a flame-retardant PPS enclosure rated to 230°C. Operating characteristics and design-life criteria are confirmed in the project technical proposal.
Cabinet Construction & Materials
The cabinet uses cold-rolled steel sheet at least 1.0 mm thick and an overlapping welded structure to improve strength and airtightness. Doors use high-strength tempered glass at least 5 mm thick with magnetic automatic sealing. Reinforced construction reduces long-term load deformation that could impair sealing. A flush handle minimizes projection into circulation routes. Conservation-grade acid-free, formaldehyde-free powder coating provides scratch resistance, ageing resistance, and long-term surface stability.
