Product Overview
The Sinoalta Modular Conservation Workbench provides a dedicated individual work position for routine conservation, examination, preparation, assembly and collection handling.
Unlike perimeter benches, central islands or integrated laboratory-furniture systems, it is centred on a single standalone workstation and can combine overhead task lighting, tool panels, adjustable shelves, storage bins, integrated power modules and under-bench storage.
The workstation is configured around the objects handled, working process, room space and supporting tools; its dimensions and module positions are not limited to a single catalogue layout.
Key Functions
Dedicated Conservation Work Surface
Provides a dedicated area for examination, preparation, treatment, assembly and other hands-on tasks; worktop size and surface are selected for the actual workflow.
Integrated Task Lighting
The upper structure can carry LED task lighting above the work surface; fixture quantity, position and frame arrangement are confirmed per project.
Organised Tool Access
Perforated tool panels, shelves, bins and tool holders keep frequently used conservation tools and materials organised within reach.
Configurable Storage
Suspended drawers, shallow under-bench drawers and mobile cabinets can be configured around storage and access needs.
Integrated Power Access
Power outlets or modules can be integrated for compatible conservation tools and supporting equipment; outlet type, quantity, voltage and electrical layout are confirmed for the destination and project.
Configured Around the Workflow
Dimensions, worktop, upper modules, lighting, tool organisation, storage, electrical components, finishes and their positions can all be arranged around the user workflow.
Structure and Component System
Workbench Frame
A modular metal frame forms the principal support and accommodates different worktop sizes, upper structures and storage arrangements. Final materials, reinforcement, dimensions and finishes are confirmed per project and may include powder coating, custom width and depth, custom working height, levelling feet and a mobile base where required.
Worktop
The worktop is configured for the conservation task rather than treated as one universal specification. Material, dimensions, thickness, finish and functional requirements are confirmed per project; an antistatic worktop can be specified when needed, without presuming a resistance value or material certification.
Upper Accessory Frame
An optional upper frame supports lighting, shelves, panels and accessory modules. Its height and component positions are confirmed for reach range, worktop dimensions and tool arrangement.
Tool Organisation Options
- Perforated tool panel: may be arranged for brushes, scalpels, tweezers, scissors, rulers and small hand tools; hooks and holders are selected to suit the actual tools.
- Solid back panel: useful for temporary references, treatment records, documents or project supports; magnetic accessories are specified only where the material supports them.
- Combination back panel: brings together perforated and solid areas, shelves and removable bins in one workstation.
Integrated Task Lighting
The upper structure can carry LED task lighting above the worktop, with fixture quantity, position, length, upper-frame position, switch location and electrical arrangement adjusted for bench width and workflow.
Final lighting performance depends on the selected fixture. This page does not presume a colour-rendering index, illuminance, colour temperature, UV output or flicker metric.
Integrated Power Options

Storage Options
Suspended Drawer Unit
Compact drawer modules can be mounted beneath the worktop while preserving an open central work area; drawer count, dimensions, mounting side, pulls and internal divisions are configurable.
Under-bench Drawers
Shallow under-bench drawers provide ready storage for frequently used tools, measuring instruments and small accessories; their size and position can be adjusted.
Mobile Storage Cabinet
A freestanding mobile cabinet can sit beneath or beside the bench; cabinet size, drawer count and height, pulls, casters, locking and internal organisation are configurable.

Functions Not Included as Standard
The Modular Conservation Workbench is a general-purpose standalone conservation workstation. Its standard configuration does not provide dust extraction, fume exhaust, suction treatment, transmitted-light examination, active humidity control, active temperature control, water supply, drainage or chemical-fume containment.
Work requiring those functions should be separately specified or served by the appropriate dedicated Sinoalta conservation workstation.

Frequently Asked Questions
Modular Conservation Workbench—Frequently Asked Questions
What is a conservation workbench?
A conservation workbench is a dedicated work platform for examination, preparation, treatment and other hands-on work in museums, archives and conservation laboratories.
Which parts of the workbench can be customised?
Overall dimensions, worktop, upper frame, lighting, tool panels, shelves, storage bins, drawers, mobile cabinets, outlets, finishes and component layout can all be configured per project.
Can the workbench height be adjusted?
Working height can be specified per project. An active lifting mechanism must be requested during configuration; electric height adjustment is not a standard feature.
Can the worktop be customised?
Yes. Worktop size and finish are selected for the workflow, with an antistatic top available where needed; other materials are confirmed during project configuration.
Can power outlets be integrated?
Yes. Outlets and power modules can be configured for quantity, destination outlet standard, project voltage and workstation layout.
Can lighting and tool panels be added?
Yes. The upper frame can be configured with LED task lighting, perforated panels, solid panels, shelves, tool holders and removable bins.
Can drawers or mobile cabinets be included?
Yes. Suspended drawers, under-bench drawers and mobile storage cabinets can be added for storage and access needs.
Is it the same as a laboratory bench?
No. This product centres on one standalone conservation work position; Conservation Laboratory Benches serve larger perimeter-bench, island-bench and integrated laboratory-furniture layouts.
Does it include dust or fume extraction?
Not as standard. Work that produces dust, vapour or other emissions requires dedicated extraction or a separately designed ventilation arrangement.
